Emma starts with £50.
ReplyDeleteShe spends half on a dress:
½ × 50 = 25
Money left: 50 - 25 = £25
She buys shoes for £12:
25 - 12 = £13
She spends one-third of the remaining money on a handbag:
⅓ × 13 = 4.33
Money left: 13 - 4.33 = £8.67
So, Emma has £8.67 left.
