Emily has 36 apples. She gives 1/4 of her apples to her friend, Sarah, and then gives 1/3 of the remaining apples to her neighbour, John. How many apples does Emily have left?

On the third day, she reads 1/3 of the remaining pages plus 18 pages. After this, she has 1/4 of the book left to read. How many pages are there in the book?
