Sam has 2/3 of a chocolate bar.
ReplyDeleteHe eats 1/4 of 2/3, which is: 1/4 × 2/3 = 2/12 = 1/6
So, he eats 1/6 of the whole chocolate bar.
The remaining chocolate is: 2/3 - 1/6 To subtract, convert 2/3 to have a denominator of 6: 2/3 = 4/6 Now subtract: 4/6 - 1/6 = 3/6 = 1/2
Sam has 1/2 of the chocolate bar left.
