The Magic Square
In a 3x3 magic square, the sum of the numbers in each row, each column, and both diagonals is the same. The magic square below has some numbers filled in. Can you find the missing numbers?
How many pages are there in the book
Sophia is reading a book. On the first day, she reads 1/5 of the pages plus 12 more. On the second day, she reads 1/4 of the remaining pages plus 15 pages. On the third day, she reads 1/3 of the remaining pages plus 18 pages. After this, she has 1/4 of the book left to read. How many pages are there in the book?
To solve the magic square, the sum of each row, column, and diagonal must be the same. The magic constant for a 3x3 magic square with numbers from 1 to 9 is 15.

The second row must also add up to 15. Since 3 and 7 are given: 3+x+7=15
==> x=5
The third row also needs to sum to 15. Given 9 in the middle:
The only numbers left are 2 and 4, and they must sum to 6 because 15-9=6
Now we know all the missing numbers:
5, 4 and 2
