Percentage Problem

A store offers a discount of 20% on all items. During a special sale, an additional 10% discount is applied to the already discounted price. If an item originally costs £50, what is the final price after both discounts are applied?

    Firstly, lets apply the 20% discount on the £50 item.
    0.8 * 50 = 40

    Next lets add the additional discount:
    0.9 * 40 = 36

    This gives us an answer of £36
