Solve the system of equations

Solve the following system of equations:

2x + 3y = 7
4x - 5y = -1

Comments

  1. If we multiple both sides of the first equation by -2, then we get-4x-6y=-14. We can then add this onto the second equation and the x cancels out so we get: -11y=-15 and y=15/11

We can then substitute y into one of the equations to get x as 1 45/99
