Find the slope

What is the equation of the line that passes through the points (-2, 3) and (4, -5)?

  1. We get the change in y as -8 and the change in x as 6 so the gradient is -8/6 or -4.3. We can substitute this value into y=mx + c and substitute one of these coordinates into the y=mx+c to get the final equation as y=-4/3x + 1/3
