What are the dimensions?
If the ratio of the length to the width of a rectangle is 4:3, and the perimeter of the rectangle is 70 meters, what are the rectangle's dimensions?

We know the ratio but we dont know how much each side length actually is. Using this ratio we can create an equation:

14x=70
x=5
We now know that the ratio was multiplied by 5 so we get the side lengths as 4*5=20 and 3*5=15
