Ravi and his 2 sisters

Ravi has two sisters, Harsha and Harpreet. He likes to share out his sweets unfairly. One day he gives Harsha twice as many as he gives himself, and he gives Harpreet half as many as he gives himself. If there are 42 sweets in total how many does Ravi get?

    To do this we can form an equation.

    2x + x + 0.5x = 42 where x is equal to Ravi.

    If we simplify this we get 2.5x = 42, then Ravi will get 16.8 sweets
