Building a wall...
It takes 2 men 3 days to build a wall. To answer these questions, assume that all men work at the same rate all the time and take no breaks! You may use fractions, where necessary.
1) How long would it take one man to build the wall?
2) How long would it take one man to build 6 such walls?
3) How long would it take 3 men to build 6 such walls?
4) How long would it take 10 men to build 6 such walls?
5) How long would it take 10 men to build x such walls?
6) How long would it take y men to build x such walls?
1) If it took 2 men to build the wall in 3 days then one man would take 6 days
ReplyDelete2) If it took one man to build a wall 6 days, then to build six such walls it would take 36 days.
3) If it took 36 days for 1 man to build 6 such walls, it would take 12 days for 3 men to build 6 such walls
4) If it took 36 days for one man to build 6 such walls, it would take 3.6 days for 10 men to build 6 such walls
5) If it took 10 men 3.6 days to build 6 such walls then it would take 0.6x days for 10 men to build x walls
6) If it took 0.6x days for 10 men to build x walls, then it would take 6x/y days for y men to build x such walls
