Mystery number

This mystery number has 4 digits. Every digit is an odd number. None of the digits is a 9. Every digit in the number is different. The smallest digit is in the thousands place. The greatest digit is in the ones place. This describes two possible numbers. The mystery number is the greater of those two numbers. What is the mystery number?

  1. Because all digits are odd and you can't have the number 9, you can shorten down the possibilities of the number into saying that you can only use the digits 1,3,5,7. Then, because it says the smallest digit is in the thousands place, you know it starts with one. Then, because it says the greatest digit is in the ones place you know the number has to be either:

    -- 1735
    -- 1753
