A car hire firm charges £35 per day plus 34p per km travelled. A man hired a car for 4 days and travelled 300km. How much did he pay?

    First, we can do 35 * 4 because he hired a car for four days. Next, we can do 300 * 0.34 because he travelled 300km. The 35 * 4 is 140 and the 300 * 0.34 is 102. If we add these two up we get 242. This is our answer.
