ReplyDeleteFor the first one we need to multiply 4 by 5, which is 20 the we need to subtract 2 * 3. This gives us 20 - 6 which is 14.
b)
Like the first one, do the same method but this time we get an equation. 5k - 6 = 29. If we add 6 to both sides, we get 5k = 35 then k = 7.
c)
For this, we have to do the one in the bracket first and from a, we know that is 14. We then do 5 14 which is 25 - 28. This is -3 or negative 3.
d)
For this one, we create an equation that gives us 5(30 - 2t) - 8 = 12. If we expand, it gives us 150 - 10t - 8 = 12. This will then give us 150 - 10t = 20 and then, 10t = 130, t = 13.
