A bridge is built across a river. One quarter of the bridge is over the left bank of the river and one third of the bridge is over the right bank. The river is 120 m wide. How long is the bridge?

First, you need to do 1 - 1/3 - 1/4 which is 5/12. Because it is 120m wide, 5/12 represents 120m so 1/12 would represent 24m so the total length would be 12 * 24 which is 288
