ReplyDeleteFirst, you need to use the sin cos tan rule where sin is the opposite side of the angle/hypotenuse

Finally tan is opposite side of the angle/adjacent side of the angle
Now it is very simple. All you have to do is look at which angle you have - which is the 40.5° one. Then, you look at which side you have and which side you need. Well you have the adjacent and need the opposite which means you need to do tan(40.5°) = x/3.42
Next you can do 3.42 * tan(40.5°) which gives you 2.9209559442850559003281842448039
so x = 2.9209559442850559003281842448039.
But they ask for a rounded answer so you can round it to get x = 2.92. Which means the pole height is 2.92.
